As noções de natureza e hipóstase em João de Damasco
Implicações trinitárias, cristológicas e antropológicas

O presente artigo se propõe analisar os significados específicos atribuídos por João Damasceno aos termos “natureza” e “hipóstase”, bem como a relação entre ambos, e defende a ideia segundo a qual a posição damascena se caracteriza por salvaguardar a coerência interna da teologia cristã, em especial no que se refere ao entendimento da constituição humana, à distinção entre a essência divina única e as três hipóstases que compõem a Trindade, bem como à afirmação da união de duas naturezas, a divina e a humana, na única hipóstase da pessoa de Cristo.
